Day 1-2: Poor Knights Islands
Landed in Auckland, New Zealand
Visited Whangarei Falls
Hiked along Whale Bay in Matapouri
Went scuba diving at Poor Knights Islands with Dive! Tutukaka
Day 3: Hobbiton
Ate lunch at the Musselman food truck featuring whitebait fritters
Went on the evening dinner tour at Hobbiton in Matamata
Day 4: Glowworm Caves
Walked through the Waitomo Glowworm Cave and the Ruakuri and Aranui Caves
Day 5-6: Rototura
Went to Rotorua Museum
Took the Skyline Gondola to the Volcanic Hills Winery
Visited Mitai Maori Village with a hangi meal, a cultural performance, and a guided bush walk
Hiked through Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland
Day 7: Tongariro
Hiked along the Tongariro River in Turangi
Drove into Tongariro National Park and up to the Whakapapa Ski Area
Hiked to Taranaki Falls
Shopped at the Wool Company
Day 8: Wellington
Hiked through Zealandia Ecosanctuary
Visited the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa
Went on tour of the Weta Cave Workshop
Day 9-10: Dunedin
Flew from Wellington to Dunedin on the South Island
Hand-fed alpacas as part of the Karaka Alpaca Farmstay
Went on Elm Wildlife Tour including the Royal Albatross Center
Day 11-12: Milford Sound
Attempted trip to the Catlins but got rained out
Took the Real Journeys tour to Milford Sound and also saw the Chasm and the Tasman Sea
Day 13-14: Queenstown
Visited the Kiwi Birdlife Park
Took the Skyline Gondola
Wandered around the Queenstown waterfront
